Cupcakes and Cashmere for Club Monaco

Emily Schuman's blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere, was among the first fashion blogs I ever read, and it remains a firm favorite to this day. Emily recently designed a capsule collection filled with elevated basics for Club Monaco, and the results are absolutely perfect. I'd wear every single piece she designed, and I love the muted color palette. Shop the collection by clicking through the slides above!

Loving Right Now

I've officially declared this the summer of white and blue- it seems like everything I'm buying or lustin after is one of the two colors. I'm absolutely in love with this easy, breezy dress that combines the two hues.

This Kerastase hair mask is definitely a splurge, but is seriously the best deep conditioner I've ever tried, and you just need the tiniest bit to get the job done! My hair has never felt softer or looked shinier after using it!*

Skorts always make me think of elementary school, but I love the edgy, yet playful vibe of this topshop one!

BREAKING NEWS: Kate Spade is hosting one of their legendendary SURPRISE SALES! Hurry to shop now- it's over Thursday. These gorgeous earrings are a steal at $29!

Nakd Healthy Snacks sent me a box of their whole food bars to try out, and I really love them! They're a little smaller than most bars, right around 150 calories, and they make a great snack! My favorites so far are the pecan pie, cashew cookie, and rhubarb and custard flavors. They're gluten and dairy free, and don't have any added sugars, so you can feel great about what you're snacking on!*

Have you heard about Bow and Drape? It's a fashion line filled with wardrobe staples that are fully customizable! I'm obsessed with their sequin letter sweatshirts, and spent an embarrassingly long time experimenting with different combos of their other products, too!

It's officially sunglass season, and I'm digging these classic Ray-Ban aviators.

These skin care products were all in my Lucky FABB gift bag, and I've quickly fallen in love with each and every one. Click the (+) sign to purchase, or the links above!

Have you heard about CB2's revolutionary partnership with Pinterest, APT CB2? It's the first "apartment that Pinterest built," where pinners directly influenced exactly what  items went into each room of a fab NYC loft. CB2 partnered with five fantastic interior designers, and they each pinned inspiration photos and specific pieces from CB2's line onto a board for the different rooms of the apartment. Pinners voted on which items they wanted to see in the apartment by clicking the little heart icon, and the whole apartment was put together over the course of five days! You can see more photos from each room here. My personal favorite is the absolutely gorgeous bedroom!

Sneakers for Three Months

For the last several years, I've had some pretty bad chronic back pain after a cheerleading accident in college. Last week, I started seeing a new physical therapist to try some new ways to get the pain under control, and he has some new ideas that I'm excited about, because I think they new tactics could really help me, which is great!

The not great news? One of those tactics is wearing tennis shoes, non-stop, for three months. Like, no  heels, no flip flops, at all, even for an hour. As a total "shoe girl," I'm bummed, but as someone who's dealt with pain for a long time, I realize my health is more important than my outfits. (Gasp.) I brought in a whole truckload of flats for the therapist to "approve," and I walked out with him only okaying these black ballet flats, and my Nikes. I'm allowed to wear my Converse or Toms for "special" occasions for a couple of hours (party over here!), and I just ordered these Birkenstock sandals that the doc also okayed.

So where does this leave me? I've been scouring the web for inspiration for cute outfits with sneakers, and I'm loving how Sydney, Liz, and Julia styled their pairs above! So, help a girl out: seen any great outfits lately featuring sneakers? And please, bear with me if my shoe game is a little boring in my outfit posts for the next few months!

The Church Key Los Angeles Review

On Sunday evening, Brett and I drove up to LA to go to dinner with two of our dearest friends, and we were all in the mood to try a new place. My friend Courtney had heard of The Church Key, and we decided to give it a shot! Courtney certainly knows how to pick a restaurant: we were all in love with the decor from the moment we walked in, and the food was some of the best I've ever had. I was crazy about the industrial chic vibe, with exposed brick walls, insanely gorgeous chandeliers, and mismatched mid-century modern chairs and silverware. The cocktail menu featured some of the most unique recipes I've ever seen, and each beverage we ordered was delightful! The food was fantastic, featuring "modern American-style" small plates to share with the table, and to add a little bit of extra fun, dim sum carts (they were actually bar carts and Pan-Am beverage service carts!) were constantly being rolled around from which guests can select additional items. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I'd highly recommend checking it out if you're ever in the area!

Style 2020

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a fashion, lifestyle, and beauty forum hosted by Style 2020 at the Island Hotel here in Newport Beach. Style 2020 is a personal style consulting company, and their primary focus is to help clients develop a personal style that's perfect for their life needs! It's a great service, and would be especially ideal for any busy women (or men!) that love fashion, but need  a little help when it comes to pulling everything together!

The lunch was focused around the theme of "How Do You Define Style," and was attended by a bevy of bloggers and other industry professionals. During the informative panel discussions, top stylists, makeup artists, and clients of Style 2020 discussed what's trending for spring, common wardrobe dilemmas, and a multitude of other fashionable topics! If you're in the Newport Beach area, and looking for some help with your wardrobe, I highly recommend checking out Style 2020!

Best of the Bar: Lavender Champagne Cocktail

Lavender Champagne Cocktail
(great  as a warm-weather cocktail or as a drink for a purple-themed shower or wedding!)

6 ounces prosecco, Champange, or sparkling wine (I used La Marca Prosecco, and it was fantastic with the lavender!)

1.5-2 teaspoons lavender simple syrup (recipe below)

1 sprig fresh lavender for garnish (I just bought a small lavender plant at the local nursery for about $3, but a high-end grocery store may carry it pre-cut!)

Pour simple syrup into a champagne flute, top with Prosecco or Champagne, and garnish with a sprig of lavender! (Word to the wise: don't stir the champagne into the syrup. Just trust me on this one. Bubbly everywhere!)

Lavender Simple Syrup

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon dried lavender (found at my local specialty spice store)

In a saucepan, mix sugar and water together. Bring the mixture to a boil, ensuring all of the sugar is well-dissolved. Add the tablespoon of lavender, stir in, and immediately remove from the heat. Next, let the mixture, including the lavender, completely cool. Using a fine mesh strainer (note: I double strained mine to get as much of the lavender pieces out as I could, but some tiny pieces remained- that's totally fine), strain the syrup into a resealable container, and refrigerate. The simple syrup should keep for about a month in the fridge! I think it would be fantastic in lemonade or tea, too!

Note: if you're using 1.5-2 teaspoons per cocktail, the simple syrup recipe above should yield approximately 12-16 cocktails. Cheers!

A big thank you to La Marca Prosecco for providing the prosecco for this recipe! You can find out where to purchase La Marca here.

What I'm loving this week...

This tortoiseshell monogrammed cuff would make a great gift for the grad in your life, or, you know, a gift to yourself for being awesomely you.

I received this Algenist Algae Brightening Mask in my Lucky FABB gift bag, and I'm officially hooked. It's really made a difference in the brightness of my skin, and I think it shrinks my pores magically, too!

I LOVE the gold flatware trend that's happening at the moment, but I know that I'd probably eventually tire of a set, so I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money. This set from Target is only $20 a setting, which is a relative steal when it comes to tableware!

It's been a whopping 95 degrees for the last two days, and since our apartment is lacking in AC, I'm all about wearing the lightest clothes possible. This romper would be the best for hot summer days!

Sometimes a girl doesn't want to wear full-blown heels, but want just a touch of extra height, right? These Old Navy sandals are a steal at $29, and I guarantee you'll wear them all summer long!

Every time I look at anything in a polka dot print, I smile, and I firmly believe your clothes should make you happy, which is why I love this polka dot skirt! (Only $33!)

I'm planning on spending a lot of time at the beach this summer, and I've yet to come across a beach towel as chic as this Nate Berkus for Target stunner.
