How to Get Your Feet Ready for Summer Sandals

diy pedicure essentials

It's that time of year again! Everywhere I look, I see adorable summer sandals for sale, which means it's time to whip your feet into sandal shape. Since I've lived in climates that are conducive to sandal wearing for six months of the year the majority of my life, I've learned a thing or two about keeping feet sandal smooth! Here are a few of my favorite products for a DIY pedicure.

H20 Body 24 Hour Hydrator: This lotion can be used on your entire body, but it's especially moisturizing, which makes it great for dry feet. For extra moisturizing power, slather some on at night, and sleep with socks on.

Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover: This product is a workhorse. It makes your cuticles easy to push back and/or trim in 60 seconds or less!

Cuticle Trimmer: Chances are, your cuticles could use a little TLC after a winter spent in socks. After giving your feet a good soak and using the cuticle gel, gently push back your cuticles. If you have a lot of excess cuticle skin, you can gently (and carefully!) trim it with the metal end of this tool.

Emoji Micro Pedi Nano: This little miracle worker makes getting rid of stubborn calluses and dry skin a breeze. It's battery operated, and it just takes a few swipes over dry spots to remove any dead skin.

Olive Oil and Brown Sugar Foot Scrub: I've tried pricey foot scrubs in the past, but I always come back to a DIY recipe to polish my feet. Mix olive oil and brown sugar together to form a paste, and use it to scrub skin. The sugar exfoliates, and the oil moisturizes.

What are your tips and tricks to keep your feet sandal ready?

Disclosure: the Emoji Micro Pedi Nano and the H20 lotion were samples provided to me for review purposes, but all of the opinions here are my own. Thank you for supporting the businesses that support best of BKLYN!
