Birchbox Review

One of the many fun goodies that was in my Lucky Fabb gift bag was my very first Birchbox! If you haven't heard of Birchbox, it's a membership subscription site that curates unique sample boxes each month for its members. For a $10 monthly price, members receive a box filled with deluxe samples of luxe beauty products. If you need ideas on what to do with the things in your box, Birchbox's website is full of helpful tips and video tutorials to help you use your new products. If you fall in love with a certain item, you can easily purchase it through Birchbox.com.
I've been curious about Birchbox for a while, and getting this sample box may be just the thing to get me to sign up. I love the idea of getting a fun little package once a month, and it's a great way to try out new products without investing in pricey full-size versions of the product.

Here's what was inside of my box, plus how the  Birchbox insert describes each item. I've included my thoughts in italics, too:

BVLGARI | Mon Jasmin Noir Perfume
With waves of ripe fruit and a base of heady jasmine, this luxurious scent is the perfect accessory to fall outfits.
While this scent isn't really me, I love the concept of trying new scents, since I tend to get stuck in a perfume rut- I've been wearing the same one for 2.5 years now!

Color Club | Custom Nail Polish
We teamed up with Color Club to create this custom shade inspired by the Fall 2012 runways.
I haven't polished my nails with this hue yet, but I'm loving what I'm seeing in the bottle. Plus, I think it's awesome that it's a custom shade- it's always fun to have something unique and different than what's on store shelves!

Dr. Jart+ | Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25+
Think of this four-in-one moisturizer, serum, sunscreen, and skin-perfecting tint as the (extremely stylish) Swiss Army Knife of your beauty lineup.
I've been wanting to try this BB Cream since I first heard of it, but didn't pick it up on my last trip to Sephora. I've used the Dr. Jart+ Beauty Balm once, and it seems like a great, light coverage, tinted-moisturizer-like product!

Sedu | Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment with Pure Argan Oil
IGet super shiny, super soft hair with this argan-infused serum, which also protects from heat styling and UV rays. Use on damp or dry hair.
I haven't used the oil during a blowout, but it's definitely tamed frizzies well when I've run it through my dry hair. Plus, it smells absolutely DIVINE.

tili Bags | Bags
Breeze through airport security with these too-cute plastic bags. They're perfectly sized for storing all of your beauty essentials.
I'll definitely hold on to this cute patterned bag for my next flight- it's so much more fun than a boring Ziploc.

twistband | Hair Tie
Give your ponytail a makeover with these colorful, snag-free elastics.
Well, this is definitely cuter than my plain black elastics, and I've heard that hair ties like this are less likely to leave indentation marks on your hair when you let it down again, which is great!

  1. ,,,i wasn't familiar with "birchbox"; although, i've read blogs that introduced their "sample boxes" and was curious. thank you, for describing in greater detail birchbox, it was helpful and i plan to join. for $10 a month it appears to be a great opportunity to sample products that i would otherwise not purchase because i may not care for the product after 1 or 2 uses. i enjoy your blog,,,

  3. I am dying to get my Birchbox! I just relocated from Chicago to California and while I used to be one of the first to get my monthly box, now I'm going to be one of the last since it takes a bit longer for their shipments to get here!

I adore Birchbox, so worth the money!
