The Icon: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

This is the beginning of a new series on Best of Bklyn! Each Monday, I plan to share one of my favorite style icons, past and present, with you. Today begins with my personal favorite style icon, Jackie Kennedy.

When someone says the word "icon," the first person that comes to mind, for me, is Jacqueline  Kennedy Onassis. To me, she is the ultimate style icon. When Jackie made a fashion choice, every woman in the nation took note. I love that today, 50 years after her husband was in office, her choices still look fresh and current- two of this fall's biggest "trends," leopard and capes, were outerwear choices she made eons ago. While I love her fashion taste, I admire how she was always perfectly pulled together, in both her public demeanor and her style. She was so graceful- you would have never caught her stepping out of a limo and flashing a crowd like so many starlets today, and she always made an effort to look polished, which I think is becoming a bit of a lost art. I've literally never seen a photo of her where she made a misstep. Here are a few of my favorite Jackie style moments:
