Jessica Durrant Fashion Illustrations

This weekend, while browsing on Etsy, I stumbled across Jessica Durrant's Etsy shop, and  I fell in love with her work immediately. It's not often I find an Etsy shop where I love every single item in the store, but with Jessica's, I'd happily hang any of her fashion illustrations in my home. I asked Jessica if I could share a few of my favorite prints on the blog, and she agreed. I had such a hard time choosing! Best part- each print is only $25, for an 8.5"x11", which is a steal, if you ask me!

Christmas Lights in Charlottesville

Saturday night, Brett and I set out in the car to find some Christmas lights in Charlottesville. We'd both been talking about how awesome all of the huge colonial homes in the area would look with Christmas lights on, but we were sorely disappointed. None of the houses had lights up! We both pouted for a bit, but we managed to find a little neighborhood with a couple houses that went all out, and that definitely brightened our moods a bit. We also got the chance to see the UVa Rotunda all lit up, which was so pretty. I snapped a few pics on our (mis)adventure, so here's a peek of what we saw.

Instagram Snaps

One of the very first apps I downloaded when I got my iPhone this summer was Instagram, and it quickly became my favorite way to capture and share (via Facebook and Twitter) little moments in life. If you're using Instagram, I'm bestofbklyn. I thought I'd share a few of my favorite snaps from the last couple months!

Hostess Gifts

Since we talked about what to wear to holiday parties yesterday, I thought I'd round up a few hostess gift ideas today. Wine and flowers are always appreciated, but I decided to go a little more out of the box and come up with some fun and unique ideas that your hostess is sure to love.

What's your favorite hostess gift to give?

Perfect Holiday Party Look

This weekend is sure to be jam-packed with festive holiday parties, and it's the perfect time of year to bring out all of the sparkly accessories you own! I came up with this look to take you from one party to the next without skipping a beat (add tights if you live somewhere cold!), and the best part is, you could re-wear all of the pieces separately for a slightly less festive look in the new year.

Clutch: J.Crew

Black and White

I'm loving this winter white jacket today-it would be perfect with black skinnies or over a LBD for Christmas Eve. And at $49, it's a steal. It comes in black, too!

What I Wore: Casual Cool

On Saturday, I wore this comfortable+cozy outfit to decorate Christmas cookies with friends. I've been living in this flannel shirt and my Frye boots the last couple weeks- I just keep pulling them out whenever I can't decide what to wear!

Jacket: Nordstrom
Plaid: Target (similar)
Jeans: Uniqlo
Boots: Frye

What I Wore: Fake Jury Duty

So, if you've been reading along, you may have caught that I'm married to a law student. And law students have to practice being lawyers, or so I'm told. A couple weeks ago, one of Brett's friends emailed a bunch of people asking if they knew any non-law students that could come in and sit on a mock trial jury for an afternoon. I've really, really, always wanted to be called for jury duty (I know, I'm weird), so Brett knew I'd be all over this. It was kind of cool to see, and I even wound up being the jury foreman! Anyways, back to the style blog topic at hand: this is what I wore to sit on a fake jury. The end. (And yes, I've been told I'm not a great storyteller. Sorry!)
