Trend to Love: Leopard

In my opinion, leopard print isn't necessarily a "trend"as much as it is a classic. But it's definitely a little more exciting than your basic trench or little black dress! So it's kind of in it's own little category, and while it's a classic print, it definitely waxes and wanes as far as trends go. Well, for Fall, leopard is all over the place! After I posted my Fall wardrobe inspiration, I realized that there were a few leopard touches in those photos, and I saw a ton of awesome leopard pieces when I was virtually window shopping this weekend, so I thought I'd pull together a few of my favorites. Leopard is definitely a great accessory print- it may be a little "much"to wear a leopard dress to some, but anyone can do leopard pumps or a great leopard print bag.

1. This Sara Berman clutch, $377,  would be the perfect accessory to an LBD for special events, or even jeans for a night out on the town. I love the size- you definitely would not be limited to just a lipstick and a credit card, but it's structured and small enough to still look polished.
2. These Steven loafers, $120 would be the perfect thing to pull together your weekend basic tees and jeans, and make them look more like an outfit. I know that if these lived in my closet, I'd wear them tons!
3. Flats are great, but these Steve Madden heels, $130 are to die for. I love the chunky heel- I feel like this makes the leopard less sexy and more playful, and as an added bonus, thicker heels are always more comfortable, too! These shoes are just so darn fun!
4. Rachel Zoe's first season of her ready to wear collection is coming to stores this Fall, and I'm a little in love with this bow-neck blouse, $295. Ms. Zoe famously said that you have to have some courage to wear leopard, and this top is definitely a bold statement-not one for the faint of heart! I love the tie neck too- Rachel seems to wear of this style of top, and now everyone can copy her style!
5. It seems like skinny leopard belts are a dime a dozen these days (although I still want to procure one for myself) but this Be & D belt, $97, stands apart from those. I love the bigger width, and the chain link style closure really stands out!
6. This Rebecca Minkoff tote, $95, would be the perfect bag to haul school books or a laptop in (it's made out of denim!) and would definitely mix up your look! It would also be a fun bag to carry on a plane- it would definitely make schlepping through security a whole lot more chic!

Do you love or loathe leopard print?

  1. God bless you for knowing the difference between cheetah and leopard print. I always forget.. but loved this blog post over at LightsSoBright to clear things up.

I got a fabulous leopard print cardigan from Ann Taylor last fall that I've gotten a lot of mileage out of. For this fall, I was thinking about some sky-high leopard pumps!

  4. I love leopard print! Especially when the colors are mixed up (gray with blue, pink and gray etc.) and not just the classic brownish beige with the black :)
