Wardrobe Staple: The Red Bag

I realize that a fire-engine red handbag, to some people,  may not be considered a wardrobe "staple." However, I think it is a really fun way to incorporate a little color into an otherwise "blah" outfit. Plus, I believe that whatever you are wearing on any given day should make you happy, and whenever I see a bright pop of color, I can't help but smile. Here are three of my favorite red bags of the moment, for any personal style.

If you're looking for a great everyday bag, this Marc by Marc Jacobs turn lock satchel, $478 at Saks,  is a fun option. The double strap is perfect- you can either sling it over your shoulder, or hold it in your hands, depending on where your daily adventures take you, and it is roomy enough to hold all of your daily essentials.

This Kate Spade bow wallet, $129 at Nordstrom, may have a wallet-style organization on the inside, but  I think it is too cute to hide inside your purse. It would make a great clutch for your next dress up occaision, and you can slip it in a bigger bag during the day. Win-win!

It seems like a smaller, ladylike bag is always in style, and the Macdougal Alley bag, also by Kate Spade, $325 is perfectly proper. This bag would be a great option for a shoulder bag for day-to-day use if you don't carry a ton with you (Personally, I can't do the small bag thing. But kudos to you who do.). I love the tone of the red, and the texture of the leather makes this bag a standout.

Do you own  any red handbags? Is this a staple for you?
