A Sticky Situation

I love a good manicure as much as the next girl. However, I'm not a huge fan of the inevitable chips that follow a couple days later. So when I was browsing All Lacquered Up (a great nail polish blog for those of you not in the know) last week, I saw she had linked to an old post that mentioned the "Stickey Sandwich", which promised longer lasting lacquer.  Since I already had all of the necessary supplies, I decided to give it a shot. First, you do a coat of CND Stickey  base coat, then two coats of color (I used essie Sew Psyched), then you "sandwich" the color with another layer of the Stickey base coat. To top it all off, use Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, which is my favorite top coat because it keeps your nails shiny, and it dries your entire manicure in about a minute.
So I know you are dying to know the results of this (or not, but shh.). Although the polish took a bit longer than usual to dry, I seriously had not one chip in my polish SEVEN days later. I was on my computer quite a bit, and was not easy on my nails at all. I only removed the polish because I was bored of the color and you could see the growth close to the cuticle. All in all, worth the extra few minutes on manicure day!

So tell me, have you ever tried this trick for getting a manicure to last longer?
