The Dark Side

Last week, I shared my summer lace top obsession. After I spent the weekend going through September issues of magazines, I realized that lace wasn't just a Spring/Summer trend this year, it is also going to be a huge fall trend! However, the trend for Fall will take a much more Gothic-style turn, and instead of being sweet and innocent, Fall lace is sexy and strong. Here are my favorite ways to wear dark lace this fall:

This Susan lace cardigan by Rebecca Minkoff, $277, at Shopbop, isn't going to do much in the way of warmth, but is a great statement piece styled with jeans and a tank for the weekend, or with a pencil skirt and a conservative top for during the week (depending on how "creative" of an office you work in, that is).

I love this dainty lace necklace, $26, from Etsy seller LiveInStyle. I think that, in white, this may be a touch too "girly" for my personal taste, but, in black, it is a fun way to explore this trend without being in lace head to toe. I think it would look perfectly at home under a crisp white button up shirt, and paired with a bright cocktail dress, too!

The BB Dakota Issac lace skirt, $70, at Revolve Clothing, is a great option for something other than a lace top. I love the nude color that peeks through, and the lace isn't as delicate as most, so it is a bit edgier than one might assume for lace. To keep the look from being a little too...tarty, I'd pair it with a simple black tank, and either black or nude (for maximum leg-lengthening) pumps.

Will you be wearing lace this fall?

  2. I am really into lace lately in more darker shades, but it's kind of difficult me to wear in one intact piece throughout the day. :)
